Introduction to Mindfulness Meditation
Date: May 25th to June 29th (Wednesdays) 1 session per week for 6 weeks
Time: 6:30pm – 7:30pm

Description:
Mindfulness meditation has been demonstrated to improve physical and emotional well-being as well as effectively reducing stress while generating a sense of calm and clarity.
This mindfulness meditation training will introduce the foundations of mindfulness practices and skills including mindfulness of body, emotions, thoughts, and bringing your practice to everyday life.
Coping with Anger
Date: September 2nd to November 24th (Thursdays) 1
session per week for 10 weeks
Time: 6:00pm – 7:00pm

Description:
Expressing anger in unhealthy ways can often increase the risk of negative
consequences which may include: physical aggression, increased anxiety,
depression, self-harm, unhappy relationships, job loss, or criminal justice
involvement. This 10 week course focuses on understanding the nature of anger
and identifying more effective ways of coping.
By using a Cognitive Behavior Approach, this course will focus on
understanding what is under the surface of anger, identify triggers and faulty
beliefs; strengthen assertiveness and conflict resolution skills; and practice
strategies to express emotions in ways that support healthy friendships and
create stronger family bonds. The course is accompanied by a participant
workbook.
